removing from computer (General questions)
Hi:
I'm trying to remove an application that has been installed on my Vista Ultimate machine. the Application vendor tells me that it is ok to just delete the application folders. I am able to delete everything within those folders except for wodTelnetDLX.dll. It is version 2.2.4.72. It continually gives me the message that I first need to confirm the opperation, then I need permission to perform the action. I have tried deleting under my normal VISTA user account, which is an administrator account AS WELL AS my VISTA Administrator account (where I log in as ADMINSITRATOR).
Please tell me what permission is required, from who and how I can delete it from my system.
Thanks.
Re: removing from computer
Hi,
I'm not sure why this happens. wodTelnetDLX.dll should be deleted without any problem.
What happens if you unregister first wodTelnetDLX using regsvr32?
Please go to command prompt any type:
regsvr32 -u wodTelnetDLX.dll
Make sure that you run command prompt as administrator (right mouse click and click on run as administrator).
Also you can try to delete wodTelnetDLX.dll in Vista safe mode.
If problem still exist can you please check wodTelnetDLX.dll file permissions?
Let us know how it goes.
Regards,
Drazen
Re: removing from computer
Thanks for your help. Unregistering didn't work in either my administrator account or the VISTA Administrator login account. However, booting in save mode did allow me to delete the file.
Before I did that, I checked the permissions and the Administrator had full permissions, but the user account only had permission to read and execute.
Thanks.
