Use constant in configuration File (General questions)

by GLA, Monday, March 23, 2009, 22:20 (5723 days ago)

I use the constant appdata TP in the file of configuration for:

Under Vista to update the data in
c:programDataTP
and under XP to update the data in
C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersApplication DataTP

But for WoAppupdate under xp the data go to
C:Documents and path SettingsusernameApplication DataTP

who corresponds normally under Vista at

c:programDataRoamingusernameTP

Is there another constant to realize what I wish who he seems to me corresponds more to the standards used in the programming languages ?

Thanks

Hi GLA,

Why don't you try using APPDIR instead?

Does that help?

No I use appdir for the programs and there it is OK it updates well for vista in
c:Program
and for XP in
c: Program Files
But to be more compatible with Vista the data are in the directories of standard data!

GLA,

you can use any 'shell folder', such as ones listed here:

http://windowsxp.mvps.org/usershellfolders.htm

which would translate to corresponding folder. Would that help?

Component uses folders listed in registry at

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders
