Parsing problem - Feb 29 (General questions)

by dtw01, Friday, February 29, 2008, 19:11 (6111 days ago)

I think you may have a directory parsing bug, due to today being Leap Year / Leap Day (Feb 29). We've had about 3-4 diffent FTP failures today where it can't parse the directory. The directory structure looks like the following.

Command: LIST
Response: 150 Opening ASCII mode data connection for file list
-rw-r--r-- 1 abcd abcdefgh 9098 Feb 29 11:53 ABC_ABC_20080229060014.HL7
Response: 226 Transfer complete.
Status: Connected to server - idle
Total objects in DirItems structure = 0
====================================================================================================
2/29/2008 6:00:40 AM ***Error*** Directory Parse Failed! Exiting with RC=90
====================================================================================================

We'll get through today, as I have a way in my code of toggling a switch and manually parsing the directory. Just thought I'd give you the heads up.

Dave,

I cannot duplicate your problem.

Which version of wodFtpDLX ActiveX you are using COM (dll) or ActiveX (OCX)? Which FTP servers produced this problem?

I have tried on wu-2.6.2 FTP server and it worked as expected. Today 29.2.2008. folder date is displayed correctly. I'm using wodFtpDLX.dll and DIrItems collection.

File Name: WeOnlyDo.Client.FTP.dll
File version: 1.1.9.67
Description: WeOnlydo.Client.FtpDLX
Digital Signature TimeStamp: Wednesday, April 11, 2007 4:23:11 PM

I'm not exactly sure the type of server is it - some form of Unix I think.

Dave,

Can you please send us email to techsupport@weonlydo.com and I will send you my sample. Sample is connecting to our testing FTP Unix server.

You can then rewrite it and send it back.

In order to fix your problem we will need to duplicate it somehow.

We're very short on staff today, so I don't have the time to help debug the problem. We have a work-around for today and if this is only going to happen once every four years, I can live with it. I think what I'll do the is ask our developer to download the latest version of the dll next Monday, and hope that this has already been fixed in a newer release. If it continues to be a problem, we'll proceed with help in the debugging process.

Thanks for your time. Dave

Dave,

You have much old version. Latest version is 1.2.7.110.

Maybe I'm not experiencing your problem because I'm using latest version. After updating wodFtpDLX.NET maybe you will not have it also.
