how can I close the window quickly? (General questions)

hi, I have use the dll for my app. but I found that if I close the window when the com was connecting the server, the application will crash in the connect() function . even I call the disconnect function before the window is destroyed. Because if the connection can't be created, the time is long and I want to close it quickly.
how can I close the window safely?
