Getting Started in VC

Working with the COM object

1. Install the component on your system by starting its setup program.
2. In the Visual C++ Compiler IDE, create a project or open an existing one.
3. Recompile and then open ClassWizard
4. Click on the 'Add Class' button and then on 'From a type library'
5. Locate wodCrypt.DLL and select it. Select all offered interfaces. Click on 'Ok'. VC will now generate wrapper classes for all interfaces.
6. wodCrypt is now declared as COleDispatchDriver - you can initialize it from the code like this:
   
    
      // in header file
    
          IwodCryptCom m_Crypt1;
    
    
      // in CPP file
    
          OleInitialize(NULL);
          m_Crypt1.CreateDispatch("WeOnlyDo.wodCryptCom.1");
    
   
   
7. Do not forget to distribute wodCrypt.DLL when using the COM object!

Working with the ActiveX control

1. Install the component on your system by starting its setup program.
2. In the Visual C++ Compiler IDE, create a new project or open an existing one.
3. Click on 'Project', then on 'Add To Project', then on the 'Components and Controls' menu
4. in the 'Registered ActiveX Controls' directory select 'wodCrypt Class', click on the 'Insert' button, close the dialog
5. The compiler will insert the control into the project and create appropriate wrapper classes.
6. Do not forget to distribute wodCrypt.OCX when using the ActiveX control!
